Pinkies Birmingham Weekend

You may be wondering what the Pinkies Birmingham Weekend is?  This is a face to face event which has been happening (with the exception of the last two years due to covid) since 2013.  It is a two day crafting event held in the centre of Birmingham.  The venue is very close to the centre and really close to shops, restaurants and hotels as well as train stations, Birmingham Airport and has good road links too.

We spend two days crafting, (there is an option to attend on Saturday only), shopping and just hanging out and its absolute bliss!  The fee to attend covers the cost of the venue and a craft kit to complete a few projects over the weekend.  All the events I run for team are non-profit making and all money collected is used to pay for hall hire, VAT, payment fees, craft kit and basic essentials required for our weekend together.  There has been a slight increase in cost which is shared below.

It is a fun crafty weekend with the emphasis on spending time together and mainly crafting.  There are two rooms hired at the venue. One classroom, one crop room.  You will need to bring along your own food and drink as no hot drinks or food will be provided throughout the weekend as there are no kitchen facilities.

You have to bring a basic craft kit and a list of supplies required to complete the make and takes will be emailed to you before the event.  There will be optional classes throughout the weekend, offered at a minimal cost without profit to the teacher. There are plenty of classes for all levels and some will be free.  Once you have booked I will ask what kind of classes you would like to see offered or would be happy to run yourself as we all pitch in to make this group event amazing.

All team members are welcome no matter what level.

There is a schedule with activities throughout the day which include a craft project, raffle, fun and games, swapping, optional classes and smaller spot crafting sessions.  You are welcome to do as much or as little as you wish.  You are free to come and go throughout the day. You get to spend time with your fellow crafters and team members and it really cements those friendships.  After the crafting has ended you can continue to meet up with your craft buddies for dinner/drinks and there are some great hotels and restaurants nearby.  Most people make a weekend of it and book a hotel for Friday and Saturday night.  I encourage you to ensure that if you need to cancel your hotel that you do not have to pay so please check your terms and conditions.  There are lots of hotels to choose from to suit all budgets.  There will be lots of chatter in the Pinkies SU & Team Events Facebook group about where people are staying etc and who wants to meet up for dinner etc so watch out for those posts.

You can get out of it whatever  you wish.  If you want to relax and craft then you can.  If you want to meet everyone and connect with others you can.  If you want to attend every class and learn you can do that too.

And don’t worry about coming on your own, let me know you if you don’t know anyone and I will make sure I seat you with a group you can get to know and include you in any meal arrangements etc.

I ask that everyone attending bring along at least 5 samples of crafts they have made to share and inspire with the group.  There will be a display area around both rooms and if everyone brings along their best work and a camera we can all share our creativity.

Booking closes on Thursday 31st March 2022 and full payment is required by this date to secure your place. No refunds or cancellations will be given after the closing date unless your place can be sold on to someone else.
